But I don’t have any idea as of now. Good thing he doesn’t smoke anymore. Not because he don’t like to – but because of his health conditions, he stopped smoking. My uncle on the other hand are still up to it. Dad’s asking me to canvas how much are the premium perdomo cigars online. I think a friend of his is asking him to check the price of it. So here am checking and at the same time, looking over Dad’s gift. Good luck to me then.
Jharihttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11262136309361677140noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4135145817003764569.post-53161749916179770602011-05-19T02:03:00.001+03:002011-05-19T02:03:18.228+03:00Cruising, Hiking and Running
These are the things I haven’t done yet.

A friend will go on a cruise ship on December. I’ve been dreaming of a cruise ship as well. But it only happens in my dream. Aside from sea trip, I hope that one day me and Hubby can enjoy as well a long hiking up the mountains. I’ve heard that the best equipment to use in these types of activities are the ones from Osprey Backpacks. With a good design, quality and craftsmanship.

A friend is involved in joining running. I’m so proud of her and Hubby for being active in such activities.

Insha Allah, God willing we can join in on any of these adventures in the future.
Jharihttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11262136309361677140noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4135145817003764569.post-81831295817068959892011-05-08T20:27:00.001+03:002011-05-08T20:27:00.830+03:00BIL’s Success
Yesterday was an unforgettable day for BIL. He defended his thesis which was part of the curriculum to graduate and complete his studies. He brought with him Hubby’s camcorders (remove the S, it’s just one camcorder, hehe!) to record his presentation. We’re all so proud of him. He got a grade of 97 with the over all presentation. And is currently on top of class as well. At the end of the presentation and questions from his professors, one of them said that they should copy BIL’s way of presenting his thesis. It made us so proud of him. Insha Allah God willing, may his dreams be fulfilled.
Jharihttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11262136309361677140noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4135145817003764569.post-85494286670356497142011-05-06T05:19:00.001+03:002011-05-06T05:28:23.077+03:00Friday Fill-Ins
I don’t want to be late for this week again. Their motif was so nice that I can’t help myself to browse all over and over again their lovely wedding photos. Their wedding was based on the colors of the rainbow. Starting from the brides-made up to the cakes and souvenirs. Such a lovely colorful wedding! I’m sure the guests knows what to give them for their special day. With a motif like this, gifts for wedding will be one of the main thing to think about. Imagine a couple who loves all types of colors.

To the newly weds A&S, Congratulations! So who’s next?
Jharihttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11262136309361677140noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4135145817003764569.post-40284217868882714102011-04-28T00:58:00.001+03:002011-04-28T00:58:06.552+03:00GT: Techie Talk
It’s my first time to join Girl’s Talk for this week. I always forget to subscribe over their feeds that’s why I’m unable to join each week’s meme.

So for this week, we’ll share something techy.

I’m not a techy person. But I can’t leave without the following:

1. Internet Access – as in access to all my sites and social networking activities mainly Twitter & Instagram.

2. My EHD

3. My iPhone 3Gs – an alternative way to having an internet access, hehehe!

4. My Nikon D90 – which is hardly used now a days due to lack of good subjects around. Thanks God for Instagram, photography within me still rules.

Where’s the laptop? I’m using Hubby’s laptop for now. So basically, I don’t have one as my own – just borrowed, hehehe!

As a matter of fact, I had problems recently with my EHD. It keeps on prompting me that I need to reformat it. I got scared that if I copy the files somewhere, some might got corrupted during the process so Hubby to the rescue. He helped me clean my EHD. This EHD was a gift for my birthday last 2009 from our dear friend Mohammed (Hubby’s closest friend). He grant me one of my wish list. My EHD is like a multivitamins for me. Everything is here inside. Photos, files, photos, files, and lots of photos. Hahaha!

I think that’s it for this week. Now off I go to visit some Girls who shared their techy stuffs too.
Jharihttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11262136309361677140noreply@blogger.com19tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4135145817003764569.post-39674995080737089492011-04-27T18:24:00.001+03:002011-04-27T18:24:37.681+03:00Working Overtime
Hubby’s not home right now. He’s cleaning the house alone. I feel sorry for him. I wish I could help him with the cleaning but since I’m a little bloated right now, all I have to do is to wait for him while he comes home and prepare the food once he arrive. Yesterday, he came around 9 o’clock in the evening already. He said that it’s much better to do it now since he still have the available time to do this things. If I’m an owner of a company, I’ll definitely give him a cash advance.

Thank you God Allah for bringing this man into my life.
Jharihttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11262136309361677140noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4135145817003764569.post-57968538012927821202011-04-27T00:06:00.001+03:002011-04-27T00:06:31.057+03:00Sunday Stealing: The "It's All About Four Things" Meme
Four Places I go:
1. They increased the bitrate so the effect of it makes the uploads even faster.

E-Book

Who doesn’t have an e-book? Most of these days, if the hard bound is not available, we shift to soft bound – the “e” way style. Meaning, the “electronic” style of reading. Thanks fellow TBE for this. This is fun!

Do you think you’re hot?

- Nope. I’m just an ordinary person who believes in a lot of things and enjoys life to the fullest.

Upload a picture or wallpaper that you’re using at the moment.

Talk about the picture.

- This is my recent free wallpaper download from the Shabby Shoppe blog. It’s a calendar wall paper ready for the month of May.

When was the last time you ate chicken meat?

- I think 3 to 4 days ago. I can’t remember, honestly.

The song(s) you listened to recently?

- Right now, I’m not listening to any famous songs on the radio. Since I don’t have any access to it here abroad. But I did install an app on my iPhone for PILIPINAS RADIO. But the internet is too slow. It takes time to buffer.

What were you thinking as you were doing this?

- Well aside from the new sets of questions asked about, same with Davaoena, Who will i tag?! LOL!

Do you have nicknames? What are they?

- I have a lot. During my childhood days, my family calls me “JHING”. Then as I grow older, it transformed to a more feminine name “JHENG”. I had it with me all through out except in College. I became “JHARI”. Years and years passed by, after converting to Islam, my fellow Muslim brothers and sisters calls me “MARYAM”. My family-in-laws now calls me “MARY” and another joke name “MARMURA”. Well I wish her good luck on doing this.

I myself would like to collect coins too, but instead I’m thinking of collecting bags. Hahaha! Well, let’s all admit – it’s a girl thing that can’t be resisted. EVER!

I’m just kidding. I would like to collect books as a matter of fact. Just give me some time and I will really invest for those great reads.
Jharihttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11262136309361677140noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4135145817003764569.post-80804128758579441642011-04-13T20:33:00.001+03:002011-04-13T20:33:09.700+03:00Wednesday Happy Thoughts

1. But I was busy reading over some stuff about motorhome repair that it keeps me busy for some time. And aside from that, our internet was so slow that I can’t even open a page without waiting a minimum time of 5 minutes. My gosh!

So anyway, here’s this weeks’ random questions to answer.

1. Do you listen to music at work, and if so, do you use a mp3 player, play it through your office computer, or do you listen to it collectively via a separate radio you keep nearby?

When I was still working as an agent in a call center 5 years ago, I used to listen to music via computer. I’ll plug my USB and will hit the MP3 player to play songs. But I only do this if I’m on a night shift. We can only do whatever we want once the managers and bosses are not around which starts 6pm.

2. Tell us something about people that you absolutely hate.

Oh my! I hate people who knows you only by name and comes to you when they needed something from you.

I hate people who says a lot of things and stories behind my or your back.

I hate people who are not honest with themselves – that means that can’t be untrusted too.

I hate people who don’t appreciate their PARENTS! People who don’t give credits to their PARENTS. And people who don’t give a damn about their PARENTS.

I hate people who don’t appreciate the small things you do for them.

I hate a lot of things, but who am I to judge them?

3. What is something someone has done that you'd like the world to know about?

I want the world to know that my husband is a responsible father and a loving partner. He’s my soul mate – and will forever be grateful for being his wife.

4. Where is your favorite place to sit when at home?

Facing the TV, I’m used to sit at the long sofa on the right.

5. How did you come up with the title of your blog?

Well, it depends on what blog I’m about to set up. For example, this blog is intended to be a meme blog. That’s why it's called “A Cup of Meme”.

6. Tell us about the one who got away.

This afternoon, a thief just got away – I swear! I saw a man when I was hanging the laundry at the veranda running so fast. Then I hear a man shouting from a far “Harami!” meaning “Thief!” – but the guy was running so fast.

7. Have you ever had a big birthday party?

As in a grand birthday party? Yeah. When I turned 7 years old, then 13, then 21 and lastly my big 30. But my last birthday was a simple dinner with special friends of mine who made a meaningful part of my existence for 30 years.

8. What was the biggest bash you've ever attended?

To be honest, I have not attended any bash yet. Except for weddings and birthdays. But like bachelorette party or baby shower, not yet. Hmmm… I’m weird!

9. With my kids and an always changing life, I find myself sometimes unable to focus! Do you have that problem, too?

Oh yes! Especially if you have a lot of things on your shoulder to think about like financial stuff and additional responsibilities outside your home. Ugh! But I don’t mind – I believe that God Allah is on our side.

Jharihttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11262136309361677140noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4135145817003764569.post-50660653212633656372011-04-03T04:42:00.001+03:002011-04-03T04:42:55.066+03:00Friday Fill-Ins

Oh my. I’m so late with this week’s FFI. Was too tired to blog lately. So here goes. Better late than never.

1. I can't believe I’m on my last stretch of pregnancy. 1st trimester was really unbearable for me. I thank first of all my husband for being supportive with all my demands (yeah, if you’re pregnant – you have all the excuses in the world, hahaha!)
2. Showering baby dust for everyone especially for some friends of ours over Twitter who has been praying to have their own bundle of joy.
3. How can I stop thinking of Tangled the animated movie?
4. Beef with Coconut milk aka “Beef Adobong Gata” was the last thing I cooked.
5. Six of one – this was the score when BIL and Hubby played the FIFA-I-don’t-know-what-it-is-game over the laptop a while ago before sleeping. Let’s bring out the soccer trophies, shall we?
6. momomo; nonono!
7. And as for the weekend, tonight I'm looking forward to (assuming that today is Sunday since today is really Sunday) packing up winter clothes back in the luggage and get all the summer clothes out , tomorrow my plans include a trip again back and forth to Beirut and Sunday (again, let’s assume that this is for Tuesday then), I plan to sleep – I’m sure I’ll be tired from the trip the previous day.
Jharihttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11262136309361677140noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4135145817003764569.post-57780180619071615912011-03-29T17:57:00.001+02:002011-03-29T17:57:10.206+02:00April Fools Day
2 more days from now, it’ll be another prank-y day for most people in the US. April Fool’s day will just be another day here in Syria. It’s being celebrated on the 1st day of April. I can’t see any significant reason to celebrate it since it’s mainly for fun and practical pranks. Those of you who will treat this day for fun, just make sure it will not do harm to other people.

April Fools' Day is celebrated in the Western world on the 1st of April of every year. Sometimes referred to as All Fools' Day, April 1 is not a legal holiday, but is widely recognized and celebrated as a day which tolerates practical jokes and general foolishness. The day is marked by the commission of good humoured or funny jokes, hoaxes and other practical jokes of varying sophistication on friends, family members, teachers, neighbors, work associates, etc. ~source

Jharihttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11262136309361677140noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4135145817003764569.post-85430484996992356902011-03-27T22:16:00.001+02:002011-03-27T22:16:36.336+02:00Freebie Hunting
I was reading an important review about lipozene side effects when I came across these wonderful templates from Scrap Matters while browsing over my Google reads too (multitasking! Wohoo!). I’ve been a freebie hunter for quite some time. I wanted to buy some kits but I don’t have any CC right now to purchase them online. I guess I just have to wait then until I can set up my new Pay Pal account too.

These for example are one of my favorites kits right now. Scrapping mojo hasn’t visited me for quite some time. I guess, it’s on his round right now. For the mean time, I’m searching and searching for freebie kits.

If you have any site to recommend, please leave me a link on this post then. This photo was part of my 365 Project for the year 2010. I then realized how happy it will be to have a club house around us somewhere like the place where we played billiards before. I wonder where the club house organizers take billiards supplies?

In the Philippines, billiards is loved by many. It’s like a past time for many especially those kids in their college years. Why? because aside from the logic that you’ll get from it, you need to have technique to play and win in this game.
Jharihttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11262136309361677140noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4135145817003764569.post-54533260588777093802011-03-26T18:32:00.001+02:002011-03-26T18:32:26.876+02:00Random Updates
I was doing a review about some medical devices such as audiometer when I realized that it’s almost the end of the month. It’ll be our 3rd month here in Syria. How do I feel? I feel confused and at the same time content.

Confused because that means me and hubby have been jobless for 3 months now. Content because in spite of that, we’re together. I’m confused because I’m loving my new work as a SAHM, but at the same time, I’m thinking of my parents back home.

We’re waiting for some updates and I do hope that there will be a good light at the end of these long tunnel that we are right now.
Jharihttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11262136309361677140noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4135145817003764569.post-58288785925415535982011-03-25T23:46:00.001+02:002011-03-25T23:46:19.036+02:00Friday Fill-Ins

1. Even tower cakes are being done mostly by cupcakes only.

Last year, when we celebrated Julia’s 2nd birthday, a friend was offering me to order cupcakes as a souvenir. But I was running out of time with the preparation of Julia’s birthday so I wasn’t able to do so as much as I wanted to order. I even had my niece prepare all the necessary things for Julia’s birthday.

Insha Allah, God willing I’ll learn to cook cupcakes so that I can prepare them myself for Julie’s home coming. Put yourself on the shoes of the people who lost their houses because of the Tsunami in Japan, and still you’re asking and praying to have the latest edition of Luis Vuitton bag next door?

Be content and read on some tips on how to lead a happy life:

Understand what it is that will make you happy.

Make a plan for attaining goals that you believe will make you happy.

Surround yourself with happy people.

When something goes wrong try to figure out a solution instead of wallowing in self pity.

Spend a few minutes each day thinking about the things that make you happy.

It’s also important to take some time each day to do something nice for yourself.

Finding the humor in situations can also lead to happiness.

Maintaining your health is another way to achieve happiness.

Finally, it is important to understand that you deserve happiness.

Jharihttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11262136309361677140noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4135145817003764569.post-67352088025519517512011-03-19T17:14:00.001+02:002011-03-19T17:14:38.635+02:00Saturday 9: You Were Meant For Me
1. Have you ever felt that you were “made” for someone or some purpose?

I’m sure that I’m made for my husband.

2. What do you do when you have a problem that you can't do anything about it?

What’s done is done. We can’t turn back time. Better move on and do something right and learn from the mistake instead. And most of all, pray.

3. If marijuana were to be legalized, do you think it should be taxed?

I don’t even agree that it should legalized, haller!

4. What is one thing you should never do on a first date?

I’ve learned one thing from watching “Sleepless in Seattle”. Tom Hanks said “Ask a girl for a coffee date only. By that way, you’ll get to know the person then you can see if you can go and invite her for dinner.” – I guess that’s a good tip. Ask the girl for coffee only.

5. If someone (at gunpoint) forced you to receive a portrait tattoo of someone, who would it be?

I have no idea, LOL!

6. Is tomorrow going to be a good day?

Tomorrow is Sunday. It’s a family day back home. Here, it’s just a normal day for us.

7. Anything fabulous happen to you last night?

Yeah, I watched “Tangled” for the nth time with dear Julia.

8. For a few years in a row, you receive a nice tax refund: do you make an adjustment with your payroll deduction so they’ll take less, or do you leave it that way so that you can continue to receive the big check every spring?

It’s been like 4 years since I received a tax refund. Don’t know the feeling anymore.

9. When was the last time you had butterflies in your stomach?

When we took my Lebanese Passport from the Foreign Affairs in Lebanon. I couldn’t believe that I hold a Lebanese citizen now. Alhamdulillah. Thank God.

Jharihttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11262136309361677140noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4135145817003764569.post-62935717024373038792011-03-18T23:38:00.001+02:002011-03-18T23:38:30.926+02:00Friday Fill-Ins

1. Please take a moment to say a little prayer for the safety of all our love ones.
6. Perseverance and determination have brought you this far.
7. And as for the weekend, tonight I'm looking forward to see our HSH again, tomorrow my plans include preparing a good meal for Hubby and Sunday, I want to see task on my dashboard, waaah! It’s been a while.
Jharihttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11262136309361677140noreply@blogger.com1
